Description
An intrinsic part of the history of both Porto and Vila de Gaia lies within its relationship with that most famous Portuguese drink, Port. The hillside in the very heart of the historic area, edging down towards the Douro River, is filled with underground tunnels and caves housing the vintage tipple. The vivid red cellar roofs dominate the landscape and scream out to be photographed. For anyone with a head for heights, a ride on the Gaia Cable Car (Teleferico de Gaia) gives a bird's eye view of the vibrant landscape and Crossing the red rooftops of Vila de Gaia, Porto, Portugal in this way is an experience you will always remember.
